An Open Letter from a group of Mila researchers on the use of AI systems in warfare: the alarming case of AI use in Gaza and the occupied West Bank

“the use of these technologies in warfare is a major concern, and we call for an end to the use of military AI in both Gaza and the occupied West Bank. Beyond these cases, we further call on the international community to establish a unified approach to regulating the use of AI in warfare, in order to prevent the development of AI systems that participate in killing, forcibly displacing, or otherwise oppressing civilians.”
